Google Third-Party App Activity Privacy Class Action
Google · Google tracking and use of consumers' third-party app activity information · Ongoing Litigation
About this case
Smartphone users allege that Google collected app-related analytics data through its Analytics for Firebase code after users disabled the company’s Web & App Activity setting, violating their privacy. A jury awarded $425 million on two privacy claims, and the federal court has continued to reject Google’s efforts to vacate the verdict; plaintiffs’ request for a new trial on a separate computer-access claim was also rejected.
